Job description
Intel Labs' Processor Architecture Research (PAR) Lab directs corporate-wide research into future processor designs. The Lab offers research internships in the following areas: 1) extreme CPU microarchitectures in areas such as front-end bottleneck mitigation, machine learning-inspired branch/value predictors and code/data prefetchers, advanced cache/heterogeneous memory hierarchies, and hardware-based security 2) Accelerator-based subsystems for developing AI applications, as well as their synergistic integration with CPUs/GPUs and innovative memory technologies 3) Collaboration on (micro)architecture and system software to allow next-generation compute/memory efficiency for datacenter and cloud applications.
Qualifications
Technical knowledge (one or more): a) Strong C++/Perl/Python software skills, as well as familiarity with cycle-accurate (micro)architecture simulators and/or system software (compilers, runtimes, OS) b) Experience in VLSI design and/or accelerator-based (micro)architecture c) Experience in characterization of upcoming AI/Cloud workloads and workload-driven architecture
